On Monday 11 September 2023, Independently East Ltd (IEL) entered compulsory liquidation following an application made by the FCA. The Official Receiver has been appointed as liquidator.
We set out below the steps IEL clients can take if they are concerned about any investments arranged or promoted by IEL, how clients can contact the Official Receiver, and steps that people can take to protect themselves against scams from any fraudsters who may be claiming to act on behalf of the firm or the Official Receiver.
IEL is a regulated firm which was authorised to provide financial advice.
On 13 February 2023 we took action against IEL which meant that their accounts were frozen and their permissions to carry out regulatory activities were cancelled. More information about our reasons for taking this action can be found here[1].
The Official Receiver has been appointed to wind up IEL for the benefit of its creditors and will be writing to all known creditors shortly to explain what this means and how to make a claim.
