Information on FOI statistics 2023/24 - February 2025

The information you have asked for is publicly available and can be obtained on our website here. For this reason, we are exempted from having to disclose it to you under section 21 (information reasonably accessible to the applicant by other means) of FOIA. For more information on why we are applying this exemption please see Annex A below.

1. We can confirm that by 31 December 2024 we have published a total of 255 responses relating to requests closed in 2023 and 2024. These are broken down as 107 responses relating to cases closed in 2023 and 148 responses related to cases closed in 2024. This information can be found on our website here, and can be filtered by year. Please note that the figures provided above refer to the date when the response was first issued. This means that some of the responses with a release date of 2023 may relate to requests that were received towards the end of 2022. As you may be aware, our Disclosure Log contains information we have already released under FOIA in the course of the year, and which we think is of wider public interest.

Section 21 (Information reasonably accessible to the applicant by other means)

We are not required to provide you with this publicly available information as it is accessible to you by other means.

FOIA states that information should be considered to be reasonably accessible to the applicant, if it is information which the FCA or any other person is obliged by or under any enactment to communicate (otherwise than by making the information available for inspection) to members of the public on request, whether free of charge or on payment.

To the extent that the information we hold is publicly available, we are exempt from the duty to release it under section 21 of FOIA, as this is information which is accessible to you by other means.
