Information on notifications of senior person amendments or removals - May 2022

In relation to the FCA's 'Notification of senior person amendments or removal form'

• The number of UK alternative investment fund managers that have left their post
• The number of UK alternative investment fund managers that have left their post because of "Dismissal/termination of employment or contract" and "Suspension"

I would like this data as a total for each of the last five years, with March 31 as year-end. If this is not possible then please use the year-end used internally by the organisation.

If you are unable to provide five years of data, please provide four years of data, if you are unable to provide four years of data, please provide three years of data, otherwise please provide data for the last two years.

Please note we have interpreted ‘UK Alternative Investment Fund Managers’ (“AIFMs”) to mean senior persons responsible for the management of an AIFM. Please also note that “senior persons” are only applicable to certain types of AIFM, specifically full-scope internally managed AIFMs and small registered AIFMs (including Registered Venture Capital Fund Managers and Social Entrepreneurship Funds).

The table below provides the number of notifications processed to remove AIFM senior persons for the last 5 years and for 2022 to date.

We do not hold the information you have requested.  This is because the firms that have notified us of the removal of senior persons over the past 5 years, have predominantly done so through the Small registered UK AIFM change form, which for small registered AIFMs, serves a similar purpose to the ‘Notification of senior person amendments or removal form'. Unlike the ‘Notification of senior person amendments or removal form’, this form does not include the reason for removal.
