Information about interviews conducted by the FCA when considering whether to approve an individual to perform one or more Senior Management Functions.
1. When considering whether to approve an individual to perform one or more Senior Management Functions, we understand that the FCA sometimes interviews candidates as part of the application process. Please confirm how many individuals the FCA interviewed for this purpose during: (i) 2024 and, (i) 2025 (so far)? If possible, please break these figures down by SMF applied for (e.g. how many interviews were held with SMF16 candidates) or provide a general indication of the most common SMFs for which the FCA decided to interview a candidate?
2. Of the interviews referred to in 1 above, how many individuals were invited to attend second interviews with the FCA (as referred to on the FCA's website, https://www.fca.org.uk/firms/approved-persons/senior-management-functions under "If we're not satisfied")? If possible, please break these figures down by SMF applied for (e.g. how many second interviews were held with SMF16 candidates) or provide a general indication of the most common SMFs where the FCA decided to interview a candidate for a second time?
