Onshoring of technical standards

The EU technical standards that were operational during the transition period have been brought into UK law by the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020.

Relevant instruments, which were made on 22 October 2020, are listed below. These instruments make changes to bring the standards into UK law. The UK technical standards may be found in the FCA’s Handbook.

UK SFTR validation rules

UK SFTR reporting counterparties and UK TRs should use the UK SFTR validation rules when submitting securities financing transactions (SFTs) entered into from 11pm on 31 December 2020 until 11 April 2022. On 14 October 2021, we published an update to the UK SFTR validation rules, which will apply from 11 April 2022.
