We have published the terms of reference for the review into our handling of interactions with Mr Simon Andriesz, a whistleblower who made protected disclosures to the FCA.
We shared our condolences following Mr Andriesz's tragic death and our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones.
The review was commissioned by our non-executive directors. It is being conducted by Lea Paterson CBE, an independent non-executive director of the FCA.
When we announced the review, we said it would examine how we interacted with Mr Andriesz. The review will now also look at whether we met our responsibilities under whistleblowing law and followed our own policies and procedures when handling his whistleblowing reports, including his concerns that he had experienced detriment. It will cover the period from at least 2017 to 2026.
The review will identify any lessons learned and make recommendations for improvements to our future engagement with external whistleblowers and vulnerable individuals.
We previously said we aimed to publish findings in early 2027. Given this broader scope and the need to examine evidence spanning many years, more time is needed to complete the review thoroughly.
A progress update will be published in January 2027, with the final report expected in spring 2027.
